Obituary of Lindsey K. Milne

Lindsey K. Milne, 60, of 223 Myrtle St. Jamestown passed away Saturday (January 9, 2010) in the Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A Jamestown resident since 1983, she was born June 3, 1949 in Olean, NY a daughter of the late Paul E. and Marjorie Campbell Keller. She was a 1967 graduate of Olean High School and entered the U.S. Navy as a Corp Wave serving from 1968 to 1971. Following her enlistment she entered the St. James Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hornell, NY, where following her graduation began her professional career as a registered nurse. In earlier years she had worked at the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean and also worked at the Tioga General Hospital in Waverly, NY and Olean General Hospital. While living in Jamestown she worked as a registered nurse for W.C.A. Hospital from 1983 until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the "A New Song Choir" and served on various committees of the church. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She loved to travel to many sporting events in support of her children and took great pride in her three grandchildren. Surviving are her husband Rockland A. Milne whom she married August 24, 1974 in Olean, NY, her three children Jesse A. (Kristen) Milne of Jamestown, Nathan P. Milne of Selinsgrove, PA, Kara L. (Christopher) Richardson of Aurora, NY, three grandchildren, Kameron A. and Karson B. Milne of Jamestown, Blaise John Richardson of Aurora, NY, and two sisters, Georgia Rae (Louis) VanZutphen of Athens, NY, Sonja Nenno of AZ and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Beverly VanDixon. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alison L. Leitzel, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean, NY. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
