Obituary of Jon A. Ayres

Jon A. Ayres, 65, of 17A Shirley Lane, died unexpectedly on Monday (November 23, 2009) at his home. He was born July 1, 1944 in Jamestown the son of the late John G. "Jack" and Helen M. Rosean Ayres. Jon was a graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the United States Air Force. In earlier years, he was employed at Flickingers. He was a member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion in Celoron. Surviving are three sons, David (Roxanne) Ayres of Lakewood; Jason Ayres of Jamestown; Brian (Kathryn) Ayres of Whiteville, NC; and four grandchildren, Savannah, Mariah, Brittany, and Jack. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Marie Ayres. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home where Military Honors will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday.
