Obituary of Katherine A. Harris

Katherine Ann "Katie" Harris, 30, of 211 Grubb Hill Road Kennedy, with great peace and unafraid, left her mother's arms and went into the arms of Jesus at 11:15 a.m. Thursday (September 17, 2009) in her home. She was born March 8, 1979 in Jamestown the beloved daughter of Ann Covey Carlson Harris and Martin P. Carlson. Katie was also the beloved adopted daughter of William Harris. Katie was a graduate of Fredonia BOCES class of 2000. She loved and was loved by all her wonderful friends at Aspire of WNY, at Hospice, her Church, BOCES School and in the community, and especially enjoyed horseback riding at Centaur Stride. Katie spread love and joy everywhere she went and we were all blessed to have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed, but her beautiful testimony lives on. In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her brothers, Daniel Carlson (Jennifer and Logan) of Randolph; William and Nicole Carlson and precious nieces, Noelle Lillian, Rhema Katherine, Liberty Ann, and soon to be born, nephew Regan Adams all of Albany, NY; her sister, Samantha (Steven) Landy of CT; Pastor Peter Siakama (Sarah), Shalom, Joshua, and Shaddai, all of Kitale, Kenya; her paternal grandparents, Ed and Angela Carlson (Martin) of Tomball, TX; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Francis and Margaret Covey; and her paternal grandparents, John and Josephine Kerrin. A Celebration of Katie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Family Church 3130 Garfield Road Jamestown. The Rev. Timothy Stahlman and Pastor Peter Siakama will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family would like to give many thanks to all of Katie's friends at Aspire and Hospice, and to Dr. Collins and Dr. Gingell, to their Church Families and friends at Praise Fellowship and Family Church, and to all in the community who knew her and loved her.
