Obituary of Martha Wilbur Potter

Martha Wilbur Potter, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on September 16, 2009 in Dayton Ohio. She was the War Bride of Clair W. Potter whom she married December 29, 1945. They bravely traveled and made their home throughout the World in their years together. Her parents were the late Ralph and Ethelind (Andrews) Wilbur of Busti, NY. Martha was a dedicated homemaker, enjoying cooking and tending to her family. It was a great joy for her to create and try new recipes that she would enjoy sharing with all. She was a very social person, known for her sense of humor, participating in among others, The Wright Patterson Officer's Wife Club, Beavercreek Bridge Club. She served the National Red Cross throughout her life with the Grey Ladies and the National Disaster Team helping with the Xenia Tornado Disaster. She is survived by her Husband Clair, her Sons Edward (Gen) Potter of Jamestown, NY, Jesse (Ece) Potter of Atlanta, GA, her Daughters Linda (Gene) Johnson Busti, NY and Rae Potter whom resided with her to be her caregiver. Grandchildren are Michael Potter, Kevin (Rebecca) Potter and Eric (Melissa) Potter all of Jamestown, NY, Corrie Johnson of Mountain View, Ca, Shelley (Mark) Waterman of Erie, Pa, John Clair and Rushton Siggins of Charlotte, NC, Kagan and Lara Potter of Atlanta, GA. 7 Great grand children, and many favorite Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded by her parents, a daughter Carol and an infant daughter Ellen Kay, her brother Chet Wilbur and sister Mary W Johnson. Visitation will be 7-9 pm Friday; The Funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm all at the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Busti Cemetery.
