Obituary of Charlotte Hope LaMere

Lorraine E. Anderson, 86, formerly of High Acres Trailer Court, Bemus Point, died at 3:00 p.m. Friday (August 14, 2009) at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born December 10, 1922 in Salamanca, NY, a daughter of the late Harry and Edith Slocum Hoover and attended Celoron schools. For 30 years she had been employed by the former Maddox Table Co. and had earlier worked for Jamestown Worsted Mills and Jamestown Veneer and Plywood. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Thule Lodge and had served as treasurer of her shop union and senior citizen's bowling league. Lorraine loved her cats and was an avid knitter. She always enjoyed being with people. Surviving are nieces and nephews Bonnie Buvoltz of Randolph, Dan Vincent of Jamestown and Joe Samples, Albert Nichols, Cheryl Samples and Carol Samples, all of Erie, Pa; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin M. Anderson, whom she married June 28, 1947 and who died January 18, 2003; and two sisters, Virginia Fedorsic in 2002 and Carol Samples in 2001. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Tuesday.
