Obituary of Katherine R. Carlson

Katherine R. Carlson, 81, of 327 Howard Ave. WE, formerly of 26 Dearing Ave., died unexpectedly at 7:19 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 in WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born in Falconer, NY on November 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Tanner Ruckman and graduated from Falconer High School. Katherine was employed by the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities for many years, retiring as a supervisor. She was a member of the Vikings, where she was past Chief of the Diana Lodge, and also belonged to the Falconer American Legion. Surviving is a daughter, Karen E. Peterson of Las Vegas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nels G. Carlson whom she married August 9, 1952 and who died October 31, 2001. The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
