Obituary of Phyllis A. Sanders

Phyllis A. Sanders, 83, of Orchard Road West Ellicott, passed away Thursday September 24, 2015 in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born September 27, 1931 in Gowanda, NY the daughter of the late Ceylon and Jessie Schutt. Phyllis was a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Caregivers and previously at the former Jamestown General Hospital. She was a floral designer for many years at Girton's Florist, a family business. Phyllis loved spending time with her granddaughters and also traveling to new places. She was a member of Lakewood Tops and enjoyed her cats (Luvie & Honey), gardening, and feeding the birds. Phyllis also enjoyed weekly outings with her brother John. Surviving are three sons, Michael (Mary) Sanders of Center Ridge, Arkansas; Richard (Debbie) Sanders of Lakewood, NY and N. Fort Myers, FL; Patrick Sanders of Durham, CT; seven grandchildren, Molly Ross, Meghan Bergeron, Marissa Sanders, Susan Umstead, Julie Galaska, Jessie Sanders, and Bailey Sanders; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, John Schutt of Panama, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Sanders. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
