Obituary of Marianne E. Lindberg

Marianne E. Lindberg, 83, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 in her home. She was born June 6, 1932 in Jamestown. Marianne had been employed for 32 years by Quality Markets, and in earlier years as a waitress for various area restaurants. She is survived by a daughter, Cyndi L. Doutt of Canton, GA; three grandsons, Jamie, Sandor and Calin Doutt, all of Georgia; a sister, Donna Czora of Springville, NY and Plant City, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Marianne was preceded in death by her father, George V. Smith; mother, Millicent Eckstrom Schroeder; two brothers, George E. "Jack" Smith and Val A. Smith; and a son-in-law, Daniel Doutt. Marianne was always a loving caregiver. She cared for her mother, Millie, until she passed away. Marianne's brother, Jack, lived with her in earlier years and again for the past 6 years until his passing in January of this year. Marianne was a very beautiful person. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Hinman and Rev. Daniel Soderberg will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Lind's.
