Obituary of Joseph J. Adams

Joseph J. Adams, 70, of 304 Foote Ave., Jamestown, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo. He was born October 1, 1945 in Wellsville, N.Y., a son of the late William H. and Laura Baharm Adams. A 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School, he served as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Joe worked as a copier technician for many years, both for several area copier companies and for 12 years, Zeno Copier in Tampa, Fla., returning to Jamestown in 2007 following his retirement. In earlier years, he was a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed umpiring youth baseball. He loved attending all of his children's sporting events. He also attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Joe is survived by his wife, the former Janice Nordin, whom he married June 24, 1965; four children: Jonathan (Lisa) Adams of Erie, Pa., Jamie Mealy of Jamestown, Michael (Sunnie) Adams of Charleston, S.C., and Jennifer (Jasen) Wilson of Richland, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons; and a brother, Francis (Mary) Adams of Girard, Pa. and sister, Peggy (Douglas) Brownell of Tampa, Fla. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Wayne Eppehimer will officiate. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
