Obituary of Clifford Dean Creed

Dean Creed, 73, of Fenner Road in Dewittville, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 in WCA Hospital. He was born in Rockville Centre, N.Y. February 5, 1943, the son of the late Clifford F. and Dorothy Duzet Creed. Dean was a 1961 graduate of East Aurora High School, as well as Jamestown Business College. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. In earlier years, he owned and operated Creed Data Processing and later, the Direct Image Co., specializing in advertising and sales. He was a member of both the Ellery VFW and the AMVETS. Dean loved the outdoors and hunting, as well as anything with a motor – sports cars, boats, snowmobiles and four-wheelers - and enjoyed golfing. He will be remembered as a family man who loved his children and grandchildren deeply. Dean is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly Thorp Creed, whom he married May 8, 1981; four children: Stacy Creed of Jensen Beach, FL, Jason (Danielle) Jacobs of Littleton, CO, Shannon (Chad) McGlothlin of Dover, OH and Josh (Reneé) Jacobs of Corning, NY; eight grandchildren: David & April Matthews, Casey & Summer Jacobs, Colin & Devon McGlothlin, and Kaylie & Alyssa Jacobs; a sister, Carolyn Creed of New Jersey and three nephews: Jeffrey, Greg and Jonathan Lafferty; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Steve & Judy Johnson and Roger & Penny Thorp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sophie Thorp in 2003. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Assoc., 8550 W.
