Obituary of John R. Geraci III

John R. Geraci, III, 29, of 601 Stowe St. Jamestown, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1987 in Jamestown, NY a son of John R. Geraci, Jr. and Dona A. Hughes James. He also lived in Mentor Ohio for 11 years before moving back to Jamestown in 2004. John was a 2005 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned degrees from both Jamestown Business College and Jamestown Community College. Prior to his illness, he was employed as the North East Crew Manager for Chuck Latham and Associates. He had also worked for the Jamestown Jammers. He was well known for his love of sports, especially his beloved Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers. He also loved the Ohio State Buckeye's and just recently attended his one and only Ohio State football game. During his senior year at Jamestown High School, he played on the Red Raider Baseball Team and bowled on the Red Raider Bowling Team. As an avid bowler for many years he threw one perfect 300 game during his career. He will also be remembered for his quick wit, his infectious spirit and his sarcastic remarks. He truly lived life to the fullest, despite his struggles and touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving is his father, John R. Geraci, Jr. of Jamestown, his mother, Dona A. (Bill) James of Rotunda West, FL, his paternal grandfather, John R. Geraci, Sr. of Jamestown, a step-brother, Erik James of Columbus, OH, his two aunts, Linda Hughes of Rotunda West, FL, Judy (Bill) Mohney of Jamestown, his beloved Labs, "Mali" and "Hoss" as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Beverly A. Geraci and his maternal grandparents, Joni Mazzarisi and Donald Hughes. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, in the funeral home.
