Obituary of Robert W. Tynan

Robert W. Tynan, 74, of 5008 Lewis Road Bemus Point, passed away unexpectedly Monday January 16, 2017 in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. He was born May 31, 1942 in Buffalo, NY the son of the late John and Rita Rusch Tynan. Robert was a 1960 graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School in Dunkirk and attended Buffalo State College. Prior to retirement in 2003, Robert taught auto mechanics at Erie 2 BOCES Hewes Center. Previously he owned and operated Tynan's ESSO in Dunkirk. Robert loved cars and was a member of the Chautauqua Lake Region Antique Auto Club. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen McGraw Tynan whom he married April 6, 1963; three children: Keith J. Tynan (Denise) of Cheektowaga, NY; Darren R. Tynan (Christel) of Oswego, KS; Teresa Tynan-Gajewski (Edward) of Bemus Point; four grandchildren: Jacqueline Tynan (Randy) and Brian Tynan both of Bemus Point; Darren R. Tynan Jr. and Cedric V. Tynan both of KS; one great grandson: Eli W. Tynan of KS; a step granddaughter: Lakin Gajewski of NC; a brother: Richard J. Tynan (Judy) of Derby, NY; a sister: Sharon S. Niedzwiecki (David) of Mayville; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday January 21, 2017 in St. Mary of Lourdes Parish, Bemus Point, NY. The Rev. Todd Remick, pastor, will be celebrant. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
