Obituary of Andrew Michael Moore

Andrew Michael Moore, 42, passed away unexpectedly Saturday January 28th in Weddington, NC. He was born March 4, 1974 in Jamestown, NY to Kenneth R. "Rebel" and Marilyn Backus Moore. Andrew was a 1992 graduate of Southwestern Central High School, obtained an associate degree from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, and was in the process of continuing his education in computer sciences. He had been employed for 15 years at Kirklands and was currently employed as an electrician with Diversified Electric in Charlotte. He enjoyed photography and nature. Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother Benjamin T. Moore of Waxhaw, NC; aunts and Uncles LuAnn and David Backus of West Ellicott; David and Genevive Powell of Charlottesville, VA; and Wanda Sue Jordan of Hornbeck, LA; as well as numerous cousins from the Jamestown area and Louisiana. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents Benjamin Jackson Moore and Ella F. Moore of Hornbeck, LA; Gene F. and Lillian Carlson Backus of West Ellicott; Aunts Velva Lou Self of Hornbeck; Karen E. Miller of Blockville, NY and Uncle Daniel Backus of Jamestown. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday February 5, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
