Obituary of June M. Langworthy

June Mary Langworthy, 76, of Ashville, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. She was born June 7, 1940 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Floyd Potter and Kathleen Moon Porter. A great deal of her childhood was spent growing up with her beloved grandparents, Clayton and Mary Potter. June was a graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years employed by the former Jamesway Department Store in Lakewood. She was later a bus driver for Panama Central School for 27 years. June was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending races at Stateline Speedway, as well as Knox Speedway and Tri-City Speedway in Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed lawn tractor pulling with the Lake Erie Pullers and in younger years, horseback riding. She is survived by a son, William D. (Marsha) Langworthy of Panama, NY; daughter, Sue (Barney Campbell) Langworthy of Ashville, NY; and four grandchildren: Michael Langworthy of Ashville, Mary Campbell of Sugar Grove, PA, William T. Langworthy of Beaverton, OR and Michelle Langworthy of Lake Oswego, OR. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry Potter of Pleasantville, PA and Sherwood (Jeannie) Potter of Ashville, NY; and two step-sisters, Phyllis McNitt of Flagler Beach, FL and Betty (Lee) Crosby of Bear Lake, PA. June was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Langworthy whom she married February 28, 1959 and who died December 16, 1992; step-father, Alton Porter; and step-mother, Doris Potter. A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in the Panama Greenwood Cemetery.
