Obituary of Joan M. Taylor

Joan M. Taylor of Fluvanna, NY, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Ronald G. Hamilton and Anne Waugh Hamilton of Delmont, PA. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Jack S. Taylor. She was the loving mother of Patricia Church (Philip) of Fairfax, VA, James Taylor of Jamestown, NY, Kerry Eloshway (John) and Kristine Taylor (David Hamilton), both of Twinsburg, OH. Joan also leaves four grandchildren, Paul and Joanna Church, Michael Eloshway (Aziza) and Amy Heim (Philip) and one great-grandson, Ethan Heim. She is also survived by her brothers, William, Donald and Douglas Hamilton and sisters, Mary Lou Grabiak and Myra Lee Bedard. Joan was pre-deceased by her daughter, Amy, and grandson, Ross. Joan graduated from high school in Greensburg, PA, married young and raised her family in Ohio. She joined the workforce after her kids were grown and worked for Revco and Stouffer Hotels. Joan and Jack retired to Jamestown, NY to enjoy the lake views, entertain family and friends and spend time golfing. Joan was multi-talented—she cooked, decorated, painted, kept a beautiful home, and loved and enjoyed her family. She was a devoted golfer and a member of Timbercreek Golf Club. She was energetic and focused on taking care of her house and husband until the end. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed forever by all of them. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
