Obituary of Ricky A. Hays

Ricky A. Hays, 55, of 5124 Wade Hill Rd., Gerry, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home. He was born August 26, 1961 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of John Hays and Helen Mace Bonovitch. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School. Ricky was employed by Dunkirk Specialty Steel for many years. He enjoyed the country, golf, and riding motorcycles. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Vonceile L. Miller-Hays; a stepson Dan (Christina) Miller; a stepdaughter Brandi (David) McCafferty; siblings: Brenda (John) Cunningham, Randy (Pamela) Bonovitch, Steven (Debbie) Bonovitch, Vikki (Jay) Palmer, Tom (Carol) Hays; four grandchildren: Kelsea, Mackenzie, and Keith Miller, Avery McCafferty; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Terri Burch. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. Bishop Leecroft Clarke will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
