Obituary of George T. Pricskett

George Thomas Pricskett, 98, of 3348 Old Fluvanna Road, Jamestown, passed away Sunday April 23, 2017 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born July 11, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Joseph Orr and Edna Monroe Pricskett. While growing up in Philadelphia, George delivered newspapers, delivered groceries for A & P Grocery Store, worked at RCA and Disston Saw Works. After moving to the Jamestown area, George worked at Hopes Windows for 40 years, mowed grass at the Fluvanna Cemetery, worked at the soup kitchen for 17 years, and volunteered at JAMA for many years. George loved God and people. That led him to his involvement with the Boy Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, and Fluvanna Community Church. Surviving are three sons: Thomas (Valerie) Pricskett of Portland, OR; J. Theodore Pricskett of Sacramento, CA; Jon A. Pricskett of Milford, NH; a daughter, Joyce U. Baader of Houston, TX; five grandchildren: Kari (Matt) Pearce, Joseph Urbanik, Dane (Brandi) Urbanik all of Houston, TX; Lauren Pricskett and Dominik Pricskett both of Milford, NH; seven great grandsons of Houston, TX; a stepson, H. Wallace (Bonnie) Dean of Menomonie, WI; a brother, Richard S. (Joan) Pricskett of Philadelphia, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris A. Johnson Pricskett; his second wife, Evelyn Loveless Pricskett; a brother, William Pricskett; and a sister, Doris Steelman. A Memorial Service will be held at Noon Wednesday April 26, 2017 in the Fluvanna Community Church. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave. Ext., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to the Fluvanna Fire Department, 3536 Fluvanna Townline Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
