Obituary of Sue E D'Angelo

Sue D’Angelo, 73, of 16 Summit Ave. Jamestown passed away at  5:55 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

A lifelong area resident, she was born October 29, 1943 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late C. Everett and H. Lucille Engdahl Peterson.

Sue was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Before her retirement she was employed for over 30 years by the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services working in the Adult and Child Protection Services Department.

Sue will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved and cherished her time spent with her family. She loved having her family over for holiday dinners and celebrations. She also had a keen interest in photography and enjoyed taking pictures of nature and God’s wonderful landscape. She also had an eye for interior decorating, loved traveling, shopping and dinners at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She cherished her close group of friends, where they spent many wonderful times together laughing and sharing memories. Her strong faith has carried her through the tough times this past year during her illness.

Surviving are three sons, Timothy D. (Kelly) D’Angelo of Kiantone, Todd C. D’Angelo, Thomas P. (Lori) D’Angelo both of Jamestown, four grandchildren, Thomas A. D’Angelo (Taylor Hill), enlisted in the U.S. Navy,  Nicholas E. D’Angelo, Milana G. D’Angelo and Hannah C. D’Angelo all of Jamestown, and her brother, J. Bradley (Cathy) Peterson of Jamestown.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas A. D’Angelo whom she married September 28, 1963 and who died January 17, 2007.

The funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Erickson, pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
