Obituary of Alvin Swanson
Alvin Lester "Bud" Swanson, of Lyndhurst, Ohio died on May 14, 2017 in Middlefield, Ohio. Alvin was born on December 30, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and made his home with his wife, Jean Morse Swanson in Lyndhurst, spending his summers at Chautauqua Lake. He is survived by his wife; children, Marilyn Swanson Johnson (Kenneth), and Donald Swanson (Martha), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and his siblings, Nancy Groezinger (William, deceased), David Swanson (Dolores)and Charlotte Grim (Thomas).
Alvin served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He spent his 40-year business career at Motch and Merryweather in Euclid, and his ministry career at Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls.
The family will observe visiting hours Tuesday afternoon, May 16 from 3-7pm at Parkside Church, and a private family graveside service at Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Camp Mission Meadows, 5201 Route 430, Dewittville, NY 14728.
