Obituary of Barbara J. Best

Barbara J. Best, 81, a lifelong resident of the Jamestown area, died peacefully Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by members of her loving family. Barbara was born in New York City on December 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Elov and Mabel Johnson Sundlov. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and spent the majority of her career working for Falconer Plate Glass. In her youth, Barbara loved ice skating in Allen Park. In later years, she became an avid Buffalo Bills fan and never missed the games on television, telling people not to call until a game was over. Barb's baking skills were renowned and her fudge, apple pie and date nut bread will be sorely missed. She cherished family get togethers and her absence will surely be felt at this year's July 4th gathering. Survivors include her three children, Randall (Corinne) Best of Angola, NY, Rodney Best of Gerry, NY and Rhonda (Robert) Seebold of Danville, PA. She is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Bonnie) Sundlov of Lakewood, NY and Daniel Sundlov of Dewittville, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald (Marilyn), John (Helen) and James (Bonnie) Sundlov; and two sisters: Margaret (Roy) Christy and Jeanne (George) Wheeler. A private family memorial service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Interment will be in the Dewittville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Dewittville Cemetery Assoc., P.O. Box 1, Dewittville, NY 14728 for general maintenance of the cemetery; or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th St. NW, Washington, DC 20006.
