Obituary of Jean A. Vitello

Jean A. Vitello, 87, of 743 Falconer St. Jamestown, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident for most of her life, she was born June 27, 1929 in Torpedo, PA, a daughter of the late Guy and Blanche Pike Parker. Before her retirement she was employed as an inspector for the former Marlin Rockwell Corporation which is now SKF Bearings. In previous years she had worked for the former Jamestown Worsted Mills, Nugent's Women's Clothing Store, Bigelow's Department Store and following her marriage to Joseph had worked at the family grocery store which was attached to the family home. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always thought of her family's needs before her own. Surviving are her three children, Joanne (Jim) Murray, Anthony J. (Joanne) Vitello, Rosanne (Tony) Constantino all of Jamestown, five grandchildren, Cindy (Kevin) Herb, Sandra (Chuck) McNeal of Jamestown, Joseph (Lindsey) Vitello of Falconer, NY, Amy Constantino of Dunkirk, NY, Andrew (Chelsea) Constantino of Jamestown, five great grandchildren, Lori McNeal, Cy Herb, Haili Herb, Logan McNeal, Julian Vitello and three sisters, Marie Westerlund, Gertrude Field and Patty Bennett all of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Vitello who died in 1978, her second husband Peter Vitello who died in 1997 and her granddaughter, Lori Ann Constantino who died in 1986. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday (today) in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 p.m. today.
