Obituary of Marley V. Swanson

Marley Vincent Swanson, 5 years of age, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 following a difficult battle with cancer that began in November of 2016. He was born April 13, 2012 in Dunkirk, NY and was the son of Bradley S. and Diana L. Andersen Swanson. Marley was very proud of being a graduate of his pre-school class at the Jefferson De Frees Center in Warren, Pa. Additionally, he was a bit of a movie star, having appeared in a commercial for Roswell Park Cancer Institute during this past year's Super Bowl. Marley loved building things with his Papa, using his own set of tools. He was also a Lego expert. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and neighbors, especially from the cottage on Lake Erie, and his pre-school classmates. In addition to Bradley and Diana, Marley is survived by his brother, Chance Templar; Alex, Bradley R. (Amy), Jackson and Aubrie Swanson, and Jessica (William Wright) Fields; aunts and uncles: Craig (Verna) Swanson, Mark (Faith) Swanson, Sandy (Rick) Bowman and Sandra Mangusing; a grandmother, Allene Andersen; as well as many cousins and loved ones. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ronald and Doris Swanson; and an uncle, Stephen Swanson. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Carolyn Stow will officiate. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
