Obituary of Anne V. DeMarco

Anne V. DeMarco, 98, of Hultquist Place formerly of 8 Crane St. and 10 Shaver St. Jamestown, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, in the emergency room of UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born April 19, 1919 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie Trusso Basile. In earlier years Anne had worked at the former Bigelow's Department Store and the former Grant's Department Store in downtown Jamestown. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. James. She was also a member of the Falconer Senior Citizens and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, especially during holidays and special family celebrations. Surviving are two sons, Phillip R. (JoAnn) DeMarco, Joseph A. (Beverly) DeMarco both of Jamestown, four grandchildren, Patrick DeMarco of Los Angeles, CA, Christine (Tom) Yocum of Jamestown, Anthony DeMarco, Matthew DeMarco both of St. Petersburg, FL, a great grandson, Patrick A. DeMarco and a great grandson due in August. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony S. DeMarco whom she married April 29, 1939 and who died July 21, 1996 and by her five brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 pm Friday. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611 or to a charity of one's choice. The DeMarco family would like to thank Dr. John LaMancuso for his many years of genuine care and concern for Anne and to the staff of Hultquist Place for their wonderful care during this past year.
