Obituary of Joe W. Huskey

Joe Wayne Huskey, 83, of Greenhurst, NY, was gently carried home to his Savior on Monday, August 7, 2017, and once again reunited with his beloved wife Helen "Meme" Huskey. He was born in Gaffney, SC on November 2, 1933. In previous years he and Meme had lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL before retiring to Jamestown, NY in 1988 Joe proudly served in the United States Army on active duty from 1956-1958 during the Korean Conflict then completed 20 years of service in the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of the Celoron Moose Lodge, the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, War Vets Recreation Club and the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron. Joe was always there to help anyone with anything they needed. He gave generously of his time, talents, love and fortune. Joe will always be remembered for his good humor, quick wit and his infectious laugh. Our PopPop left his family a great legacy, he taught us how to be happy. Left behind is a grieving family that will forever cherish his memory. His children; Sharon and Bob Green, Laura Mueller, Joseph Huskey, grandchildren; David and Robin Bonnell, Rob and MaryBeth Green, Tray and Matthew Mueller, Great Grandchildren they lovingly called their "Babies"; Jordan David Bonnell, Elizabeth "Helen" Green, Holland Marie Green, sisters; Beverly, Rita, Eva, Eddie D and Annie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that will forever treasure their Aunt Helen and Uncle Joe. Please join the Huskey family for a "Celebration of Life Service" for both Meme and PopPop on Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 4-5 pm at the Lind Funeral Home, 805 West Third St., Jamestown, NY. The family will receive guests at 4pm followed by prayers and remembrances presented by their loved ones. In gratitude for the outstanding care, compassion, love and support of our Hospice team; Kim, Deanna, Carna, Vicki, Bonnie, Terry and Dr. Putnam the family would appreciate memorials in Joe's name be sent to Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750.
