Obituary of Jeanne A. Carlson

Jeanne A. Carlson, 87, of 260 Schuyler St. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3, 2017, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center , Erie, PA. An area resident for most of her life, she was born August 1, 1930 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late August and Eolyne Bunting Erickson. She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement in 1992, she was employed as a teacher's aide for the Jamestown Public School System, working at Lincoln Junior High School and the Persell Middle School libraries. In earlier years she worked at the former Jamestown Telephone Company and the Ames Burns Company. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Kuples and Singles Club. Surviving are two sons; Randall M. (Dawn) Carlson of Charlotte, NC, Gary M. Carlson of Cinn. OH, two daughters; Sally (Tim)Walsh of Jamestown, Julie (John) Jaroszynski of Falconer, NY, nine grandchildren; Timothy Lovejoy, stationed in Hawaii with the U.S. Navy, Lisa Lovejoy of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Lynn Falk of Maineville, OH, Sam Carlson of Cinn. OH, Madison Vandewoude, Alyssa Carlson, Alexander Carlson all of Charlotte, NC, Jedd Jaroszynski, Jenna Jaroszynski both of Falconer and five great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Carlson whom she married November 21, 1953 and who died February 10, 1993 and two brothers, Oliver A. Erickson and James P. Erickson. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
