Obituary of Helen B. Fain

Helen B. Fain, 88, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday September 28, 2017, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born July 12, 1929, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Willie and Grace Collins Spinler. She grew up and attended school in Charlotte Center. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Weber-Knapp as a factory worker. She enjoyed gardening and collecting recipes, but her greatest love was for her grandchildren and cheering on their sports teams. Surviving are three children Thomas (Irene) Fain of Bemus Point, Donna (Vince) Proctor of Grimesland, NC and Judy (Kurt) Hunter of Adamsville, PA; six grandchildren Lindsay, Brandon and Logan Fain, Brittany Proctor and Billy Joe and Tiffany Hunter; three great grandchildren Bailey Fain, Austin and Peyton Edson and a brother Harold Spinler of Cassadaga. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence "Red" Fain, whom she married September 20, 1947 and who died November 7, 2010; two sisters Mary Blood and Myrtle Penhollow and three brothers Willie, Charlie and Walter Spinler. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gerry Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
