Obituary of Helen M. Farren

Helen M. Farren, 95, of Tanglewood Manor, passed away Saturday October 14, 2017 in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. She was born August 11, 1922 in the Town of Harmony, the daughter of the late Floyd A. and Mary R. Allison Woodin. Helen was Salutatorian of the class of 1941 at Panama High School. For 30 years, she worked at Caprino's Furniture, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Harmony Senior Citizens. Surviving are a son, Ronald Farren of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Ronald Farren II, Joseph (Sarah) Farren Jr., Patricia (Corey) Carlson all of Jamestown; Ammie Cessna and Michael (Amy) Farren, both of Kennedy; seven great grandchildren: Katie, Elizabeth, Ethan, Zachary, Patrick, Shawnette, and Kyle; nine great great grandchildren; and a daughter in law: D. Lauri Farren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph C. Farren whom she married July 26, 1941 and who died September 12, 1982; a son Joseph C. Farren who died April 22, 1994; a brother William A. Woodin; and a sister Doris J. Carr. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday October 17th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701; or to a charity of choice.
