Obituary of Jessie Leona Bohmer

Jessie K. Bohmer, age 97, formerly of Jamestown, NY, went to be with her beloved Saviour on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Indianapolis, IN. Jessie was born January 22, 1920 in Meadville, PA to Hollis and Anna May Rolland Kellogg. She married Ralph Bohmer on August 2, 1941. Due to Ralph's service during World War II, their first anniversary together was their 5th anniversary. Ralph died on August 5, 1996, just three days after their 55th wedding anniversary. Jessie worked at Marlin-Rockwell Corporation during the war years and then in the men's department of the former Bigelow's Department Store until her retirement. She moved to Indianapolis to be near her two children in 1997, where she worked as a food demonstrator at Sam's Club until she was well into her 80's. She was a member of the Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she was the church pianist for 40 plus years. She also was a member of the church choir and several ladies' groups of the church. Jessie's favorite thing was to travel to four different summer church camps in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio plus the denominations annual councils held in various cities where she made many lifelong friends. Jessie is survived by her daughter, Miriam (James) Dupler of Indianapolis, IN, her granddaughters, Chris Ann Langford of St. Cloud, FL, Malisa Bohmer and their mother, Lynda Smith of Cocoa Beach, FL and great grandchildren, Ashleigh Olson, Caitlin and John along with several nieces and nephews. She was very close to her niece Virginia (Joseph) Vogel of Erie, PA. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timothy Bohmer who died September 20, 2016, three brothers, Frederick, Richard and John Kellogg, a sister, Anna Mae Drake and two infant brothers, Mead and Donald Kellogg. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Wayne Eppehimer, pastor of the Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
