Obituary of Harriet F. Vergith

Harriet F. Vergith, 79, of 4103 Lawson Rd. Jamestown passed away unexpectedly at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in her home.

An area resident for most of her life she was born August 2, 1938 in Guys Mills, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Mattie Logan Parker.

Before her retirement she had worked for the former Jones Tasty Baking Company at both their Pine St. location and their coffee shop in the Third Street Plaza.

She was a longtime member of the Busti Federated Church and an active life member of the Busti Fire Department Auxiliary. She also enjoyed attending activities at the Busti Men's Club. Harriet loved spending time with her family and enjoyed crocheting and working on plastic canvass.

Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Vergith, Sr., whom she married July 2, 1955; five children; Susan (David) Klice of Busti, Nancy (David) Burnett of Interlachen, FL, Robert (Lorraine) Vergith, Jr. of Brewerton, NY, Carl (Kathy) Vergith, Sandy Hamilton both of Busti, her son-in-law Rodney Swanson of Ashville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild, a sister; Sara Bahurinski of GA and a brother; Charles Parker of Meadville, PA.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Swanson who died January 1, 2016, two brothers, Albert Parker, Daniel Parker and a sister, Cathy Mulindoro.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Busti Federated Church. The Rev. Lee O'Brien, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 5-8 pm Friday (today) in the Lind Funeral Home.
