Obituary of Linda W. Koski

Linda Waterhouse-Koski, 64, peacefully passed away Thursday November 23, 2017 after a long illness. Born in Rochester, NY to the late Donald and Marian Stiles Marx, she moved to her adopted home of Jamestown, NY seven years ago. After having had an extraordinary career beginning at the Atomic Energy Commission site in Idaho Falls, Idaho as the youngest member of the LOFT Program (Loss of Fluid Testing) and executive assistant to the EG & G Director of Finance. Linda relocated to Rochester, NY as an executive assistant to the President & CEO of Computer Consoles, Inc. and later as an executive assistant to the Data Processing Branch Manager of IBM Corporation. She was founder & managing director of Canterbury Associates, Ltd. and finally managing director, owner & innekeeper of the 1800 Tory Inne Bed & Breakfast, an historic elegant B & B Inne listed in the National Directory of Historic Places in West Chester, PA., before retiring to Jamestown, NY in 2010. Linda graduated from Miss McCarthy's Finishing School in Rochester, NY and attended the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho and the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. Linda was the founder of the Snake River Corvette Club in Idaho Falls, Idaho; a consummate English History buff; accomplished gardener and home renovator; avid lifelong downhill skier; swimmer/water ballet and an advocate of hospitality to others as a published recipe contributor in the Brandywine Valley Bed & Breakfast cookbook. As a passionate champion of animals, she started the Barton Cottage Foundation, Inc., a non-profit NYS Corporation that benefits the feline population of the City of Jamestown, NY. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert H. Koski of 32 years; a stepson Robert Kevin Koski (Kelly) of Half Moon Bay, CA; two step-grand daughters Cora and Ella; a sister Lee Mills-Runyan (David) of Victor, NY; two nephews Daniel and David Mills; two aunts Barbara Watkins of Sarasota, FL, Lois Brown of Rochester, NY; cousins and lifelong loving friends. A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Friday December 1st at Lakeview Cemetery's Falling Leaf Cremation Garden, 907 Lakeview Ave, Jamestown, NY with St. Luke's Episcopal Church Deacon, Cathy Smith, officiating.
