Obituary of Harry L. Olson

Harry L. Olson, 89, of Brookdale, formerly of Brostrom Hall, died Wednesday December 6, 2017, in Blair Hospice House, Warren, PA. A Jamestown native, he was born February 2, 1928, a son of the late Lars and Ruth Ahlquist Olson. He was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Rider College. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving from 1946-48. Working the in the banking industry most of his life, Harry was employed by First Trust and for many years by Marine Midland Bank. He retired after working as a self employed bank consultant. he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Norden Club of Jamestown and Moon Brook Country Club. His former memberships include Rotary and the Masons. Surviving are four children Thomas (Teri) Olson of Sylvania, OH, Sue (Brice) Weigman of Angelica, NY, Sally Olson of Angelica, NY and Robert (Beth) Olson of Jamestown; seven grandchildren Adam and Erin Olson both of Galloway, OH, Alex, Andrew and Melissa Olson all of Angelica and Nicholas and Erik Olson of Jamestown; six great grandchildren Olivia Ann, Alexa, Christa Marie, Brenden Michael, Miranda and Liliya; a brother James Olson of Albany and a sister Donna Smith of Akin, SC. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marian Erickson Olson, whom he married December 22, 1979 and who died August 26, 2013 and two brothers Raymert and George Olson. The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Robert J. Hagel will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
