Obituary of Lillian R. Palmer

Lillian R. Palmer, 91, of the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, formerly of 131 Gifford Ave. W.E. passed away at 10:04 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in the emergency room of UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born April 4, 1926 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Isabelle C. Crandall Evans. In earlier years she had worked for Betty Dixon Candies for several years and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who was a wonderful housewife and homemaker. She loved to do crafts, knit and crochet for her family, many friends and neighbors. She also spent many hours crocheting gifts for many area churches. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons; Dennis L. (Bonnie) Palmer of Gerry, NY, Roger A.(Delores) Palmer of Sinclairville, NY, a daughter; Betsy R. (Roger Carpenter) Mosher of Pittsfield, PA, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a sister June Town of Orchard Park, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Winton F. Palmer whom she married September 5, 1947 and who died September 7, 2000, a son, Larry Palmer who died June 12, 2012, and a sister, Margaret Ellis who died October 30, 1990. The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, December 29, 2017, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Haglund, Chaplain of Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Fairmount Ave. Jamestown, NY 14701.
