Obituary of Lloyd G. Aldrich

Lloyd G. Aldrich, 96, of Haines City, FL and Hidden Valley Campground, Jamestown, NY, died Monday January 1, 2018, in Florida. He was born December 16, 1921, in East Otto, NY, the son of the late Glen and Viola Meyer Aldrich. Following graduation from Cattaraugus High School he served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by McFadden Ford as service manager for 38 years. He was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, John W. Tiffany Post VFW and Samuel Derby Post American Legion. Lloyd and his wife Helen were some of the original members of the Chautauqua Squares. Surviving are three daughters Sharron (Donald) Shade of Haines City, FL, Lynn Aldrich of Lakewood, CO and Darlene Swan of Jamestown; five grandchildren Shane (Patty) Wassink of Clymer, Leslie Plutnicki of Fombell, PA, SST Erik (Kim) Swan of Port Huron, MI, Tonya (Brian) Neid of Jamestown and Thomas Shade of Haines City, FL and twelve great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Nielsen Aldrich, whom he married June 25, 1946 and who died April 28, 2004; an infant son and two sisters Betty Jane Taylor and Mary Lou Messmer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday June 4, 2018 in the pavilion of Hidden Valley Campground. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the pavilion.
