Obituary of Goldie M. Johnston

Goldie M. Johnston, 78, of 611 Busti Sugar Grove Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 11, 2018 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born February 27, 1939 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Harry and Zadie Perry Raner. For many years, Goldie worked at the former Park Laundry. She enjoyed listening to Country Music, playing Bingo, games and puzzles, especially with her friends at Heritage Park. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, James E. Johnston; a son, Michael Scott Johnston and her daughter in law Lakota Johnston, wife of Michael, of Lakewood; two grandchildren, Baylee and Emmalee Johnston; four brothers, Milton Raner, David Miller, George Raner, and Edward A. Raner; and a sister, Dorothy Morrison. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Raner and William R. Raner Sr.; and two sisters, Hazel Raner and Mary LeRoy. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
