Obituary of Phillip P. DeMarco

Phillip P. DeMarco, 76, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. A lifelong area resident, he was born July 18, 1941 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Anthony S. and Anne V. Basile DeMarco. Phil was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School and a graduate of the Doyle Beauty School in Buffalo, NY. As a self-employed beautician, he owned and operated Lords and Ladies Hair Fashions for over 40 years. He was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. A member of the Jamestown Boys and Girls Club Alumni, the Moon Brook Country Club, the former Liberty Athletic Club, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and was one of the original members serving on the Italian American Golf Committee. He was well known for being an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and loved riding in his red convertible sports car. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, JoAnn Munella DeMarco, whom he married July 28, 1963, two children, Patrick A. DeMarco of Sherman Oakes, CA, a daughter, Christine DeMarco Yocum and his son-in-law Thomas Yocum of West Ellicott, a grandson, Patrick H. DeMarco of Sherman Oakes, CA, a brother, Joseph A. DeMarco and his wife Beverly of Jamestown, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father who died July 21, 1996 and his mother who died July 24, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday in Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-3 & 6-8 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 12:45 pm Sunday in the funeral home.
