Obituary of Elizabeth A. Hewitt

Elizabeth A. Hewitt, 77, of 1309 Forest Avenue Ext., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday March 3, 2018, at home, following a lengthy illness. A native of Warren, PA, she was born April 28, 1940, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Fazio Lucia. She was a 1958 graduate of Warren Area High School and later graduated from Orra Jean Beauty Academy, Erie, PA. She was a self employed beautician working in Warren and later out of her home. She then joined her husband's business, Diversified Components, serving as vice president and bookkeeper. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was an Awana leader and led the Heart to Heart Bible study. She was an avid reader and had wonderful talent for making pottery. She often gave away her artistic creations that she made in her home studio. She saw the beauty in everything around her. She loved her family and friends, newborn babies, pets, sunrises, sunsets, pink Tiffany roses that her sweetheart planted and cut for her, the woods, mountains and beaches, books, music, painting, and creating unique and beautiful pieces of pottery. She is dancing in the presence of Jesus now. Surviving are her husband James Hewitt, whom she married April 28, 1962; three children, Lisa (Bob) Laird of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Eric (Tracy) Hewitt of Busti and Rev. Clark (Angela) Hewitt of Elizabethtown, KY; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Christopher, James and Shannon Laird and Carter and Graham Hewitt; three brothers Eugene Lucia of Kane, PA, William Lucia of York, PA and Joseph Lucia, Jr. of Warren, PA and a sister Mary Jane Lucia of Warren, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Rosemarie Lyle and Frances Lucia; a brother James Lucia and an aunt Alice Scalise to whom she was especially close. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hillcrest Baptist Church. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
