Obituary of Betty G. Johnson

Betty G. Johnson, 92, of 126 Stowe St., passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Chedwel, NY on May 16, 1925, a daughter of the late John C. and Jessie Haskin Graves. She was married to Everett C. Johnson on April 26, 1947 and who died on Oct. 30, 1982. Betty graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1943. She was employed by Seidman & Seidman from 1943 to 1951 and in the office of Jamestown Plywood from 1964 to 1990. She was a Hospice volunteer for many years and a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a member of Thule Lodge #127 where she was a former member of the Degree Team and a lifetime member of the War Vets. She was also a member of Red Hatters. Betty is survived by a son Timothy E. Johnson of Jamestown, a daughter Karen L. Johnson Kerr of Plant City, Florida, one granddaughter Ashley E. Kerr of Oklahoma City, OK, two grandsons Jason E. Johnson of Romeoville, IL and Jarrod M. Johnson of Crest Hill, IL, two great granddaughters Maclain Johnson of Romeoville, IL, and Julia Johnson of Crest Hill, IL, and two great grandsons Devin Johnson of Romeoville, IL and Gavin Johnson of Crest Hill, IL. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Helen L. Berlund on Oct. 24, 1999. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mervin R. Lee, Jr. and Rev. Daniel Soderberg will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home. Words of condolence may be left at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
