Obituary of Carl R. Amberman

Carl Richard Amberman, 98, of Jamestown, NY and New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully at 9:19 am Saturday, March 3, 2018, in his home. He was born September 8, 1919 in Goffstown, NH, a son of the late Frederick A. Amberman and Stella Dana. Carl graduated from Rochester High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving during World War II in England, as a staff sergeant under Colonel Jimmy Stewart, the actor. Before his retirement in 1981, he was a regional vice president for the R.L. Polk Company of Boston, Mass, where he was employed for 44 years. He was an avid golfer with 14 holes in one, and was an amateur photographer, stamp collector and was a beloved grandfather. Carl is survived by his six children; Carol Lee Turner of Houston, TX, Jo Anne Lubin of Portland, OR, Richard D. Amberman (Patricia) of Grand Rapids, MI, Janis A. Rodman (Stuart) of Lake Elsinor, CA, Jeanne A. McCreery (Charles) of Franklin, MA, Douglas A. Amberman of MI, four step-children; Dianne Johnson of Dawsonville, GA, Jack Johnson of New Port Richey, FL, Barbara Jean (Steve Strickland) and Tom Johnson (Rosalie) both of Jamestown, NY as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean W. Amberman who died in 1981 and his second wife, Adelia "Dee" Cochrane Johnson Amberman who died in 2015. In accordance with Carl's wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation observed.
