Obituary of Jeanette C. Anderson

Jeanette C. Anderson, 96, of Garfield Rd., Jamestown, NY, passed away at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in her home. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 25, 1921 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Herbert R. and Leila Barton Connelly. She was a 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1947 graduate of the WCA Hospital School of Nursing. Before her retirement she was employed as a registered nurse at WCA Hospital for 33 years working in the maternity ward and the labor and delivery room. She considered her career as a nurse as very rewarding and a very fulfilling career. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, the WCA Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, the Fenton History Center, the 100 member club of Jamestown High School and also served as a board member for the Visiting Nurses Association. Jeanette also volunteered at the St. Susan's Center and other local agencies. She will be remembered as one who loved music, nature, animals and enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Together they traveled the back roads and byways across the country stopping at historical sites and enjoying the many different cultures along the way. Surviving are two sons; Daniel T. (Elizabeth Lobaina) of Groveland, FL, Phillip D. Anderson of Jamestown, a daughter; Julie Kay (Chuck) Rapin of Raleigh, NC, three grandchildren; Abigail K. , Matthew W. Anderson, Dimitrianna Anderson and two great grandchildren; Piper and Sadie. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred E. Anderson whom she married August 4, 1951 and who died June 26, 2004 and six of her siblings. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home.
