Obituary of Priscilla J. DuBois

Priscilla J. "Pree" DuBois, of 147 Euclid Ave., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, just two days prior to her 90th birthday. She was the widow of Roger W. DuBois, whom she married July 25, 1948 and who died December 18, 2012. A Jamestown native, she was born April 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Carl E. and Eyra Johnson Anderson. Pree was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and had worked as a teacher's aide at the BOCES Hewes Educational Center in Ashville. In earlier years, she was employed by Bigelow's Department Store and Covey's Market. As an active, longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she belonged to the Altar Guild, was a Sunday school teacher & superintendent, served as a lector and funeral reception committee chairman, and took great pride in serving home communion. She was also a life member and former president of the Euclid Avenue School PTA, volunteered at Ring and Washington schools, belonged to the Vikings Lodge and enjoyed golf, knitting and reading. Most importantly, Pree was dearly loved by her family, her friends and her church, as well as anyone and everyone she met. Surviving are three daughters: Judy Ann DuBois and Wendy Joan Reichard, both of Jamestown, and Melinda Christine (Frank Drexelius) DuBois of East Aurora, NY; two grandchildren: Andrew Michael DuBois of Jamestown and Lila Dongyang Drexelius of East Aurora; a brother, Donald C. Anderson of Pittsford, NY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice C. Kohler in 2013, and sister-in-law, Patricia Anderson in 2011. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Tree of Life Parish, Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tara Lamont Eastman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Tree of Life Parish, 556 E. 2nd St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
