Obituary of Margaret L. Croft

Margaret L. Croft, 96, of 165 Aldren Avenue, Jamestown, formerly of Sun City Center, FL, died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday April 20, 2010, in WCA Hospital. She was born April 3, 1914, in Grand Rapids, MI, a daughter of Charles and Mabel Beamer Blackford. Following graduation from high school in Michigan she attended the University of Michigan. She was employed by Chautauqua Hardware as a designer. She earlier had worked for Wellman Brothers. She was a former member of Allen Park Women's Club, Eastern Star, Women of the Shrine, Moon Brook Country Club and while in Florida St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and Caloosa Country Club. She was an avid golfer even past the age of 90. Surviving are her loving husband Carl R. Croft, two sons Charles (Arline) Hazenberg and William (Patricia) Hazenberg, both of Jamestown, a daughter Constance (James) Stubblefield of Hazel, KY, stepdaughters Arlean Golden of Lawrenceville, GA and Sandy (Richard) Pierce of Austin, TX and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Cornell D. Hazenberg, a brother Robert Blackford and a sister Betsy DeWitt. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Buffalo, NY 14221-7380 or a charity of choice.
