Obituary of Margaret R. Bernhardt

Margaret R. "Dolly" Bernhardt, 75, of Lakewood, NY formerly of Pinehurst, Village, Dunedin, FL, died at 12:23 p.m. Friday (May 14, 2010) in WCA Hospital. She was born January 9, 1935 in Jamestown the daughter of Philip and Rose Calabrese Cordosi. Dolly was a 1953 graduate of Jamestown High School. She worked as a waitress at House of Petillo, 210 Pine, and the Red Coach Inn. For over 14 years, she worked as a travel agent at Bankers Trust, traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Caribbean Islands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Peru. For more than 30 years, she lived in Florida and spent her summers at Hidden Valley Campground. While in Florida, she worked at Cypress Run Golf Club in Tarpon Springs, FL. She devoted her Sunday's to helping at the Soup Kitchen in Clearwater, FL. Dolly loved her flowers and birds, and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was also wonderful at making crafts, especially flower arranging and wreaths. Her most favorite times were those spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by George M. Bernhardt; three sons, David (Carole) Bernhardt of Pittsburgh, PA; Christopher (Rene) Bernhardt and Randall (Amy) Bernhardt, both of Busti; four grandchildren, Ryan Heider of Pittsburgh; Carlie, Dustin, and Paige Bernhardt, all of Busti; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Neubauer of Ocala, FL; and Rosemarie (Eugene) Wilder of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Cordosi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood, NY. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
