Obituary of Weldon LaVerne Spetz

Weldon LaVerne "Archie" Spetz, 71, of 333 Hallock Street, died Monday May 17, 2010 in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown native, he was born May 20, 1938, a son of M. LaVerne and Whilma Hedberg Spetz. He was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High Scholl and served in the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was a self employed electrical contractor owning Archie's Electric. He earlier had worked for Dimaio Electric for 20 years. He was a member of Zion Covenant Church, Ingjald Lodge Independent Order of Vikings and Jamestown Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, softball, Chautauqua Lake and most of all time spent with his family. Surviving are his wife the former Barbara Barrelle, whom he married June 20, 1959, four daughters Debra Rubin and Krista (Shay) Pratt of Alexandria, VA, Pamela (Pete) Parla of Jamestown and Lisa (Donald) Nicholson of Arlington, VA, three grandchildren Jordan Nicholson, Zachary and Benjamin Rubin, a sister Donna (Clifford) Carlson of Woodridge, NJ and a brother Ronald (Lynn) Spetz of Fort Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Daniel Spetz. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Sally Leman-Chall, Associate Pastor Children and Family Ministries of Zion Covenant Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
