Obituary of Lois H. Moynihan

Lois H. Moynihan, 84, of Loyalton of Lakewood formerly of 51 Andrews Ave. died at 2:50 a.m. Thursday (February 18, 2010) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born May 10, 1925 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late C. Herbert and Helen Gallivan Hendrickson. Lois was a graduate of the Jamestown High School Class of 1943. Before her retirement she was employed as a buyer for the former Bigelow's Department Store where she worked for many years. In earlier years she had worked for the former Nelson's Department Store and the former New Eagle Motors. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a member of the Ingjald Lodge 65 Independent Order of the Vikings, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time reading. She also loved the 30 years that the family spent at the Viking Lake Trailer Park. Surviving are a daughter Martha M. (Daniel) Unrath of Canandaigua, NY, two son's James C. (Judy) Moynihan of Jamestown, John D. Moynihan, three grandchildren Timothy H. Unrath of Balt. MD, Jonathan D. Unrath of Canandaigua, NY, Stephanie Prynn, a great grandchild Lauren Prynn and her beloved sister H. Lucille Bloomquist of Indio, CA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel J. Moynihan whom she married December 27, 1949 and who died June 25, 1999. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
