Obituary of Joseph Gullotti

Joseph Gullotti, 76, of 526 South Main St., died at 1:27 p.m. Saturday (January 30, 2010) in WCA Hospital. He was born March 8, 1933 in Tortorici, Sicily, a son of the late Carmelo and Carmella Gullotti and came to the United States and Jamestown at age 13. In earlier years, Joe was employed by Caprino's Furniture Store in Jamestown and for 36 years worked at the Carborundum Company's Monofrax Plant in Falconer, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Joe's passion was spending time with all of his family, jet skiing at his cottage on Chautauqua Lake. He is survived by his wife, the former Aldina Calimeri whom he married October 18, 1948; five children: Joe (Theresa) Gullotti, Sally (Jeff) Sphon and Carl (Maria) Gullotti of Jamestown, Carol (Mark) Moll of Frewsburg and Mike (Cindy) Gullotti of Jamestown; fifteen grandchildren: Samantha, Katie, Krissy and Joey Gullotti, Amanda and Stephanie Sphon, Christopher, Allessia and Bianca Gullotti, Marke, Megan and Jessica Moll, and Mikey, Paige and Karley Gullotti; a brother, Sam Gullotti of Jamestown; and three sisters: Carol (Joe) Lisciandro of Jamestown, Joyce (Tom) Arrance of Falconer and Lucy (Burt) Nuse of Jamestown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Carl Gullotti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell Duffy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
