Obituary of Beverly J. Marucci

Beverly J. Marucci, 74, of 220 Hallock St., passed away Sunday December 27, 2009 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1935 in Brisbin, PA, a daughter of the late Evan and Myrtle Kephart John, Sr. She was a 1953 graduate of Houtzdale High School, the first of her eleven siblings to do so. Moving to Jamestown in 1954, she was employed by Lutheran Social Services until moving to Albuquerque, NM, in 1983. In 1993, she returned to Jamestown to be near her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed bingo. Ever the sports enthusiast she loved softball and bowling and in 1978 coached her son's team to win the Fluvanna Little League Championship. Surviving are a daughter Patricia (Darrell) France of Sinclairville, two sons Guy (Lori) Marucci of Lantana, FL, and John (Valerie Neid) Marucci, Sr. of Jamestown, twelve grandchildren, a great granddaughter, a companion of thirty years Edwin Barr, with whom she made her home, his family Debbie (Roger) Gibbs, Candy, Thomas and Edwin Barr, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four brothers James (Stella) John, Sr, of Mt. Holly, NJ, Neil "Spike" John of Wisconsin, Marvin (Constance) John of Sinclairville and Larry (Bonnie) John of Jamestown, three sisters Evelyn Socoski of Brisbin, PA, Myra (Tom) Date of Smoke Run, PA and Gladys John of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Pascal Marucci, who died March of 1978, two sisters Francis Neel and Marian Thomas and a brother Evan John, Jr. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. James D. Bailey, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
