Obituary of Cleon G. Nichols

Cleon G. Nichols passed away November 18, 2009, in WCA Hospital. He was born August 7, 1936 in Westfield to the late George and Leah Lanphere Nichols. A master wood carver, he was employed for many years as a master cabinet maker and was a life- long member of the woodworkers union. Upon his retirement from woodworking he took an attendant position for many years with Allright Parking at the Spring Street Parking Ramp. Many people saw his smiling face daily. Surviving are his long time companion Joyce Hagstrom with whom he made his home for 35 years, a brother Raymond Nichols, a daughter Lee Ann Nichols-Parker, a daughter-in-law Bonnie Nichols, shared children Coleen and Kyle Hagstrom, five grandchildren, four shared grandchildren, one great grandchild, seven shared great grandchildren and his beloved cat Sasha. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Shawn Nichols, two brothers Harold and Myron, and a sister Alice. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in his boyhood hometown of Westfield. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
