Obituary of Olive E. Hirsch

Olive E. Hirsch, 95, of 2109 Southwestern Dr. Lakewood, NY died at 5:44 a.m. Tuesday (September 29, 2009) in W.C.A. Hospital. A Chautauqua County resident since 1952, she was born May 16, 1914 in North Tonawanda, NY a daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Compton Grapes. She was a graduate of the North Tonawanda High School and was associated with her husband in the operation of the former Lakeside Auto Court in Stow, NY from 1952-1971. She was also a member of the Mayville Senior Citizens and the North Harmony Senior Citizens. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was also known for her excellent knitting and sewing. Surviving are a son Frank L. (Sue Ellen) Hirsch, Jr. of Ashville, NY, two daughters Sharon (Phillip) Hagadorn of Williamsville, NY, Holly (Allan) Johnson of Kiantone, NY, seven grandchildren Jonathon (Virginia) Hagadorn of Bryan, OH, Phillip (Kristen) Hagadorn, Jann (Joseph) Scioli both of E. Amherst, Allan (Dawn) Johnson, II of Kennedy, Ann (Christopher) Lynn of Frewsburg, Kristoff (Kelly) Hirsch of Ashville, Lauren (Gary) Ryan of Bemus Point, 15 great grandchildren, a sister Suzette Kampas of Tonawanda, NY, and two brothers Richard (Doris) Grapes of North Tonawanda, James (Esther) Grapes of Williamsville. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Frank L. Hirsch, Sr. whom she married October 17, 1936 and who died December 13, 2001, four brothers Norman, Donald, Edward and Stanley Grapes, a sister Vernia Grehlinger and a great grandson Kristoff Von Hirsch, Jr. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, NY. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
