Obituary of Gerald Yahn

Gerald W. Yahn, 78, of 3096 Carpenter Pringle Road, Ashville, died Thursday July 29, 2010, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. He was born November 5, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Kenneth and Beulah Kothe Yahn. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the City of Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department as a carpenter and he was also co-owner of Yahn's Catering. Surviving are his wife the former Anna Berg, with whom he celebrated his 60th Wedding Anniversary on March 25, 2010, five children Cynthia (Bruce) Jungquist of Aurora, OH, Gary (Debbie) Yahn of Frewsburg, Steven (Debbie) Yahn of Jamestown, Cheryl (John) Brackin of Riverside, CA and Christine (Brad) Lawson of Ashville, twelve grandchildren Justin Jungquist, Hilary Riccutti, Heather Yahn, Holly McBride, Steven Yahn, Kristen Yahn, Nick Stefanelli, Kara Bellows, Shannon Lawson, Allyson Lawson, Courtney Lawson and Bradley Lawson, eight great grandchildren, three brothers David Yahn and Michael Yahn and Stanley Carlson and two sisters Patricia Spetz and JoAnn Turecki. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Yahn and a sister Sally Fiorella. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Lyle Leach of Dewittville CMA Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home where Amazing Grace will be sung by the Koinonia Community at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, 200 Lothrop Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
