Obituary of Frederick N. Tracy

Frederick N. Tracy, 83, formerly of Shadyside Road in Lakewood, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Golden Living Kinzua Valley in Warren, PA, where he had resided for 2 years. An area resident most of his life, he was born March 13, 1927 in Ludlow, PA, the son of the late Vernon and Marion Nelson Tracy. Following graduation from Jamestown High School in 1944, Fred served in the US Navy from April 1944 until June 1946. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist by MRC-TRW where he worked for 35 years. He attended Lakewood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman, Fred enjoyed walking in the woods and hunting. He completed many building and remodeling projects in his workshop, and was known for his elaborate birdhouses. Surviving are five children: Beverly (Roy) Holmes of Jamestown, Brian Tracy of Youngsville, PA, Brad (Kathy) Tracy of Duncanville, TX, Beth Schuver of Lindale, GA and Bruce (Tracy) Tracy of New Brunswick, Canada; ten grandchildren: Kim (Eric) Feldmeyer of Fayetteville, NC, Kelly (Dan) Gildner of Milwaukee, WI, Lisa (Floyd) Johnson of Dewittville, NY, Shawn (Sue) Tracy of Sinclairville, NY, Andrew (Penny) Tracy of Lakewood, NY, Ally Tracy of Bemus Point, NY, Molly Tracy of Dallas, TX, Toby (Ashlee) Tracy of Duncanville, TX, and Joshua and Tyler Schuver, both of Lindale, GA; eight great-grandchildren: Nathan and Noah Feldmeyer, Lennix Gildner, Hannah and Drew Tracy, Haley Tracy, Krysta Tracy and Taylyn Tracy; and a sister, Phyllis (Carl) Johnson of Homestead, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Tracy whom he married April 17, 1947 and who died March 12, 2002; and a sister, Shirley Joyner who died October 5, 1994. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Violet A. Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service in the funeral home Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golden Living in Warren, PA; Asera Care Hospice in Erie, PA; or Lewy Body Dementia in Atlanta, GA.
